Obesity is directly related to the deaths of over 300,000 Americans every year and costs taxpayer an excess of $190B annually. Worst of all, these trends are growing year over year. When you think of all of the secondary medical effects related to obesity — diabetes, heart disease, depression, osteoarthritis, etc — it becomes clear that this is an absolute crisis of the highest order.

Let's face it, losing weight is tough. And every customer has a different journey that has led them to the place they're at. With so many unique backgrounds and lifestyles, understanding and learning what works for the bulk of our users is our biggest and most important challenge. We ask every employee to speak to customers regularly (don't worry, we'll help you if you're nervous or it's your first time).
Nearly every member of our team has worked at fast-moving, early stage startups and we know how crazy it can be. We've also experienced burn out and know it's a likely outcome if there isn't balance. Startups are a marathon and not a sprint, and we respect boundaries when it comes to family time and days off. As a health and wellness company, we encourage our employees to live healthier lives and take time off to disconnect.
After the pandemic, we plan to build our product and engineering hub in NYC. While we have a preference for in person teams, we're willing to consider remote in US-friendly timezones for the right candidate.
